Staffing Agency is a leading national recruitment company currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Day Porter to join our client’s Workplace Experience team in Te Aro, Wellington.
We’re looking for someone reliable, hands-on, and proud of maintaining high standards, with a flexible and service-focused approach.

About the Role:
As a Day Porter, you will support the daily operations of a corporate office environment, ensuring all shared spaces are well-presented, organized, and fully functional.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
(Flexibility required for events and occasional last-minute requests)

Key Responsibilities:
Meeting Room Support
  • Set up and pack down meeting rooms, adjusting furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Ensure all meeting spaces are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies (e.g., whiteboard markers, HDMI cables, notepads).
  • Provide immediate support for ad-hoc meeting room requests, including last-minute setups and technical troubleshooting.

Space Resetting & General Maintenance
  • Regularly reset and tidy  shared spaces (e.g., All Hands areas, breakout spaces, kitchens, and wellness rooms) to maintain a professional and inviting atmosphere.
  • Perform light cleaning tasks such as wiping surfaces, restocking essentials, and addressing minor spills.
  • Rearrange furniture and office layouts as required for daily operations or special events.
General Office Support
  • Assist with moving and repositioning office furniture, whiteboards, and workstations.
  • Support  ad-hoc office tasks, including receiving and delivering packages, setting up workstations for new hires, and organizing storage areas.
  • Handle minor repairs, such as tightening loose furniture or replacing simple fixtures.
  • Assist with periodic stocktakes to ensure accurate inventory of office supplies and equipment.

Facilities Monitoring & Reporting
  • Conduct routine  walkthroughs  of the office to identify and report maintenance, safety, or cleanliness issues.
  • Ensure common areas (e.g., reception, kitchen, and bathrooms) are  well-stocked, clean, and functional  throughout the day.
  • Act as the  eyes and ears  of the Workplace Experience team, reporting facility concerns such as HVAC issues, lighting failures, or plumbing concerns to the appropriate team.

Event Support
  • Assist with  internal events setup and pack-down, including arranging furniture, AV equipment, and catering areas.
  • Provide  on-the-day support  for company events, ensuring the event space remains tidy, supplies are replenished, and issues are addressed promptly.
  • Assist in  post-event cleaning and reorganization  to restore spaces to their standard layout.

Light Facilities Management (FM) Duties
  • Perform  basic maintenance tasks, such as unblocking sinks, adjusting desks, and minor fixture repairs.
  • Coordinate with external service providers for more complex repairs or maintenance needs.
  • Receive and distribute  deliveries  of office equipment, furniture, or consumables.

Stocktake & Consumables Management
Ensure that essential office and kitchen supplies remain well-stocked and available for employees:
  • Social Drinks Stocktake:  Monitor and manage the supply of social drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), restocking as needed for office events.
  • Stationery Stocktake:  Maintain inventory levels of stationery, such as pens, notepads, printer paper, and office accessories.
  • General Office Consumables Stocktake:  Oversee supplies including items for events, cleaning products, tissues, and hand sanitizers.
  • Kitchen Stocktake:  Track kitchen essentials like coffee, tea, milk, dishwashing supplies, and other breakroom necessities.
  • Snack Program Management:  Ensure a  well-stocked, varied snack selection  based on employee preferences, track consumption patterns, and coordinate vendor orders for replenishments.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience:  Prior experience in  facilities, janitorial, hospitality, or office support  roles are preferred but not required.
  • Attention to Detail:  Ability to maintain high cleanliness and organizational standards.
  • Physical Stamina:  Comfortable lifting and moving moderately heavy items (up to  20 kg).
  • Proactive & Independent:  Able to identify issues and resolve them without constant supervision.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication, with basic tech literacy(e.g., emails, Slack, ticketing systems) helpful.
  • Positive Attitude: Friendly, professional, and approachable with a strong service mindset.
